Abstract. This study aimed to optimize the students writing by implementating clustering technique that help generate ideas. The method used classroom action research as an appropriate for this research. subject in was done at SMP Negeri 02 Suhaid, Kapuas Hulu. is a Junior High School which located on Lintas Mensusai Street No.1 Mensusai, Hulu Regency. researcher conducted 24 students’ of VIII class. In qualitative data finding based observation checklist and field note, very enthusiastic during teaching learning process their showed positive attitude activities were technique. Besides, there some who active often asked questions when they found difficulties writing. Moreover, quantitative had conclusion could be improve skill. ability increased.
